Windows vs Mac OS X

In Mac OS X, there is only one Snow Leopard, comes in 32 and 64 bits

In Windows 7(so is it in Vista), there is six versions and each comes in 32 and 64 bits
Windows 7 Starter
Windows 7 Home Basic
Windows 7 Home Premium
Windows 7 Professional
Windows 7 Enterprise
Windows 7 Ultimate

Nokia vs Apple

At anytime one could easily find as many as 10 different Nokia products on the shelf, I honestly do not think Nokia CEO know what is the current product they are selling. What’s worse is Nokia phone in Asia, Europe and America are usually different in terms of model ranges, languages and packaging. Whereas Apple only build one phone and that’s iPhone.

Conclusion of Windows and Nokia
Why so many different versions and models? The cost to build, manage, market, sale and support all these separately seems to me greater than the profit from this marketing trick… And what’s worse is it confuses and therefore put off most of the users or potential buyer.
