Dear Peking University,
I am writing this to complain to the rude and inappropriate comment from Professor 孔慶東 regarding Hong Kong Residents. During his program on V1 which aired on 19 Jan 2012, he reiterated Hong Kong Residents are dogs and have the lowest moral quality in China.
These comments carry stereotype and strong discrimination, widen the social difference between Hong Kong Residents and Mainland Chinese. The statement was not only subjective, but also lack of solid evidence and demonstrated his ignorance.
This is not the first time Professor 孔慶東 speak of outrageous comments and ignite a public outcry. His comments are progressively stronger and more irresponsible. This is solely because he has never bore any consequence of his speech and therefore his behaviour has never been corrected. I understand he was spared from his position in Nov 2011 followed with a similar incidence. However, not only had he not learnt from his mistakes, he also took advantage of the forgiveness that University has shown him in the past. His speech and political point of view does not only affect himself, but also undermining the quality and reputation of Peking University. As he clearly does not deserve his Professorship, which is given to honour him to educate and nurture the next generation of Chinese. For the sake of Chinese education and social union, we strongly demand the removal of his position immediately.
